Public Libraries play an integral role in society and are becoming even more relevant in the advent of modern technology in the 21st Century. Our Bahamian public libraries are used regularly by all but especially young people who engage in study and research for not only examinations but for life long learning and development. To support the growing numbers of community libraries and information centres and the promotion of public library development in the country, a dynamic group of persons decided to form a public library group in 2005.

Others are invited to join this team in order to provide information that will be of special interest to students conducting research and topics of interest to the public as a whole. The parent organisation is the Bahamas Library Association.
